1. Design Structure

The diameter of a hole in the sphere matches that of the pipeline, and when the sphere rotates to align the hole with the streamline, the fluid can flow freely; When the sphere rotates 90 degrees and the hole is perpendicular to the streamline, the fluid flow is intercepted.
The design of the angle valve is quite unique, with the valve body roughly L-shaped, requiring the fluid to change its flow direction inside the valve. Angle valves typically consist of a plug or conical valve disc, which can be raised or lowered by rotating the handwheel to open or close the flow path.
2. Working principle
Ball valves use the aperture inside the rotating sphere to achieve switching and flow control. Ball valves can quickly switch from fully open to fully closed, making them ideal for use in shut-off and distribution applications.
The angle valve adjusts the position of the valve disc by rotating the handwheel, thereby controlling the amount of fluid passing through the valve. Usually, angle valves are used for finer flow control, especially in situations where regulation is required or valves are frequently operated.

Ball valves, due to their fast switching characteristics, are commonly used in situations where fluid needs to be quickly cut off. 4. Comparison of advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of ball valves include simple structure, easy maintenance, good sealing performance, and easy and fast operation. The main disadvantage may be that in some applications that require fine flow control, ball valves may not be as precise as other types of valves.
The advantage of angle valves is that they can provide precise flow control, especially suitable for applications that regulate flow. The shortcomings may be that its structure is relatively complex, maintenance costs are high, and it may not be as durable as ball valves in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. |
